James Robert Rebhorn was born on Sept. 1, 1948, in Philadelphia, PA. His mother, Ardell Frances Rebhorn, nee Hoch, loved him very much and supported all his dreams. "Jim died from melanoma, which was diagnosed in 1992.

He has left a lasting legacy that will go on even in death through his contributions in acting. He was a talented Actor . I remember loving to "hate' his character in Guiding Light lo those many years ago, & watching his career as the years went by.

Along with his supporting role on the Showtime CIA hit, he recently played Special Agent Reese Hughes on USA Networks White Collar. He has a special place in Seinfeld history as well, having played the district attorney who sent the gang to jail in the 1998 series finale.

I recently became acquainted with James in the last months of his life.

He was a wonderful actor! However, the FBI found a loophole and hired him back. Without his exceptional teachers and the representation of the best agents in the business, he wouldnt have had much of a career. There was no such thing as sunblock and staying out in the sun wasn't a big deal When Rebhorn passed away from skin cancer last week (read his beautiful self-penned obituary here ), we lost one of the most legendary character actors who has ever graced the screen. I walked into the treatment room to introduce myself and was greeted by such a genuine humble smile from a truly good man that I did not even connect the fact that I had just watched him display his art the previous evening while watching Homeland. It was that idea that we could believe that Neal was gone and life continued after.

A very talented man who made you forget there was an actor behind the character, so it is easy to forget all the parts he created. I am deeply saddened to learn of Jim's passing. His talent will be sorely missed. Rebecca loved him with all his flaws, and in her the concept of ceaseless love could find no better example.
